District Council 47 and the AFSCME International are deeply involved in local a national politics. THe goal is to have a positive affect for members and working people. During every election the Council and the International provide information that will help members make better informed voting decicions. Businesses and the wealthy can throw money at candidates in order to get their favor, we have something more powerful - OUR VOTES - if we choose to use them. DOLLARS DO NOT WIN ELECTIONS - VOTES DO!. If we consistently vote as a group we will not be ignored. Politicians know our strength and we could be a lot stronger. But you cannot vote unlessyou are registered. Registration is the first step in the voting process. Registration is easy Using the links below you can fill in a form, print out your registration and mail it.
