Register To Vote

District Council 47 and the AFSCME International are deeply involved in local a national politics. THe goal is to have a positive affect for members and working people.

During every election the Council and the International provide information that will help members make better informed voting decicions.

Businesses and the wealthy can throw money at candidates in order to get their favor, we have something more powerful - OUR VOTES - if we choose to use them. DOLLARS DO NOT WIN ELECTIONS - VOTES DO!.

If we consistently vote as a group we will not be ignored. Politicians know our strength and we could be a lot stronger.

But you cannot vote unlessyou are registered. Registration is the first step in the voting process.

Registration is easy

Using the links below you can fill in a form, print out your registration and mail it. It will be addressed to the appropriate authority.

 

If you are not registered to vote please consider doing so now.

Voter Registration forms and absentee ballots are available in the lobby of District Council 47, 1606 Walnut Street or in the Vice President’s office on the 5th floor.

To Register You Must:

  • Be a citizen of the United States for at least one month before the next election;
  • Be a resident of Pennsylvania and your election district for at least 30 days before the next election;
  • Be at least 18 years of age on the day of the next election.

[New Jersey and Delaware are included for members of affiliated locals who are not city employees]
