AFSCME, District Council 47, Local 810, AFL-CIO

Local 810 had its first meeting with the Courts on March 17, 2008 to begin negotiating a new contract. Our present contract expires June 31, 2008. A comprehensive list of our proposals was presented by DC 47 President, Cathy Scott. The First Judicial District expressed a desire to work diligently with Local 810 to change the existing sick leave policy. In addition, the FJD, in a letter to the mayor, indentified the salary inequity between 810 members and city social workers and asked the city to fund the raises needed to eliminate this inequity. Local 810 is starting negotiations with the city to address all our economic issues including, but not limited to: pay parity; pension adjustments; retroactive pay; and overtime pay. Stay tuned…..

After 30 years of service to the FJD, the Z-Man is gone but not forgotten. He is currently living in Florida on the water. He literally walks out of his door and onto the dock to drink his morning coffee. He plans on buying a boat.

He misses the Local 810 members and is relieved he no longer has to deal with the “Dirty Dozen” ; he has left current President Louise Carpino to finish the job!!
