Re: DC 47, Local 810 Side Letter

Dear Mr. Cairone:

During negotiations for a successor Memorandum of Understanding, AFSCME, District Council 47,
Local 810 and the First Judicial District agreed to the following:

1. PayPlan. Local 810 and the First Judicial District shall establish a joint committee for the purpose of reviewing and revising the current FJD pay plan for a more competitive long term pay plan as it applies to Local 810 Probation/Hearing Officers. The above parties agree to work diligently to achieve this goal.

2. Contracting PSI Position. Pursuant to the FJD's October 12, 2004 letter to Local 810, the FJD may conduct a six (6) month pilot program contracting out the PSI position when vacancies occur in that position. Whenever possible, the FJD shall contract with retired Local 810 members who retired from the PSI position. Theparties will meet six (6) months after commencement of the pilot program to discuss the future of theprogram.

3. Drug Testing Policy. The parties shall establish a joint Committee to explore the development of a drug testing policy to apply to Local 810 members.

4. TrainingSpecialist II. Locals 810 and 2186 shall submit a written request to the FJD to transfer this position to Local 2186.
