Contract Update Hotline 1-25-2009 

You have reached the AFSCME DC47 contract update hotline. Today is Monday, January 25. 

Mayor Nutter and The City of Philadelphia have planned no new negotiations meetings since the City last canceled a meeting in December 2009. We are now waiting for the Mayor to contact us.    

Although the Mayor has yet to set a date to make his 2011 budget address, Union leaders are already doing significant research and prep work around budget issues.   We expect to provide testimony at City Council, and we’ll be planning other membership actions to advocate for a fair budget that protects public services and staff. 

The Union held a special meeting with our Stewards and Delegates after the holidays, to discuss the FOP award and the status of our negotiations. To find out details from the meeting please speak to your Steward.
